Pepsi Innovation

Rodney Dangerfield makes a surprise appearance

Just eight days before the big event, Millennium Creative Group called on Machinima by Silver and Goldie to produce a 2-minute keynote introduction for Laurent Nielly, VP of Marketing-Innovation at Pepsi Cola North America.  Putting a new twist on the concept of mixed reality, this humorous vignette features an encounter between the “real” Laurent avatar and a “refreshingly virtual version” of himself, showing that in the world of innovations, anything is possible

Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma

Life size HD images projected during meeting

Silver and Goldie worked with marketing pros from The Gronstedt Group to create a virtual co-host for Boehringer Ingelheim’s General Managers Meeting in Las Vegas in December 2008.   Projected on stage beside the real emcee was Avatar Bob, a life-sized, photo-realistic re-creation of “Real” Bob.  Silver and Goldie puppeteered Avatar Bob with a complex choreography of animations while lip-synching pre-recorded voice and timing the action to blend with live speech.   Appearing 8 times over the 3-day event, Avatar Bob was “a big hit” with the audience.

Cisco Internet Business Solutions Group

Networking in Second Life for Cisco IBSG

Machinima by Silver and Goldie produced a 5-minute futuristic vignette in SL for Cisco’s Internet Business Solutions Group.  Presented as a multi-scene play staged at a virtual home and office, it features avatar characters engaging in dialogue and interacting using advanced network technologies -- a challenge that required custom animation, in-world streaming, compositing and other sophisticated production techniques including the early implementation of the Joystick Flycam.

 InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG)

Live 90-Minute stream from Second Life

Working with the PR firm Weber Shandwick, Machinima by Silver and Goldie conducted the recording and live streaming of the inaugural event at Crowne Plaza’s “The Place Meet Island” in Second Life. The Leading Brands Summit on the Impact of Emerging Media was a virtual roundtable discussion hosted by Forbes Magazine’s Steve McGookin and featured MIT’s Professor Henry Jenkins, Microsoft’s Cory Van Arsdale and Michael Donnelly, Director Worldwide Interactive Marketing, The Coca-Cola Company. S & G produced both full-length and abbreviated versions of this project.
